Angel Volume 3, Chapter 1

Volume 3: Chapter 1 - For Kokubu Erina

Erina, also known as Kokubu Erina, found herself in a deserted room.

There were several men and women in the room whom she had never met before, and apparently, none of them seemed to have a clear understanding of what was going on.

「In the first place, what is this outfit......!」

 Such words pierce Erina's mouth.

Everyone, including her, was dressed in a crude kantou gown.

Erina had no other clothes, not even underwear, and it was uncomfortable.

After waking up in the morning, washing her face, and eating a simple meal, she would start up her PC.

After that, she would go about her work, and before she knew it, the sun was setting and the day was over.

Since she started working remotely, she has not been able to find the right time to finish her work, and she often ends up working too much.

Still, it is far better than when she used to commute by crowded train.

Whatever the case may be, Erina thought that such a life would continue for a long time to come.

It felt as if it had been abruptly terminated.

「What the heck, geez ......!」

Erina still doesn't understand the situation.

She was so frustrated by the situation that she couldn't help but say so.

There was a brief altercation between the men and women gathered in the room, but soon a man entered the room.

He was dressed in a suit with a sword at his waist.

It was all a bit confusing.

However, the man in the suit offered to let them out of the room, so Erina decided to go follow him.

Some of the members of the group were not happy about it, but she didn't care.

She wanted to get out of this room as soon as possible.

A different person from the guide gave her a brief explanation of the room.

To be honest, I didn't understand half of it, but I was grateful to be given a private room.

Erina entered the private room, sat down on the bed, and let out a deep breath.

She was tenser than she thought she would be.

「The Beginning Room, huh......」

That seems to be the name of this room.

The layout is similar to the 1K apartment she lived in when she first went to college and started living on her own, and it made her kind of nostalgic.

「Let's sleep for now......」

Erina lay down on her bed without showering, still in her robe.

She then fell into a slumber.

This was all a dream, and when I woke up, normal life might resume.

With such faint hopes, she let go of her consciousness.

The next morning, Erina woke up in the "Room of Beginning," her faint hopes in vain.

She took a shower in a foul mood, and when she felt a little refreshed, she noticed a change in herself.

(My skin, pretty ......?)

She felt her skin in the mirror was more hydrated than usual.

Her dark brown hair was shiny, and her eyes, the same color, seemed to glow somehow.

(And my body feels lighter, too.)

Erina quickly wiped herself off with a bath towel and looked down at her own body, which still had a few droplets of water on it.

She doesn't feel that she has lost any weight, so she assumes that her weight has not changed.

This lightness of her body is probably not physical.

(I'm not skinny, but.....)

It has been several years since she started working primarily remotely.

Erina's body must have been a bit more flabby, as she rarely leaves the house anymore.

She was careful with her diet to avoid becoming overweight, but the exercise was limited to light squats when she noticed.

Perhaps it was because she was in her late twenties, but she did not feel that her physical abilities had deteriorated that much.

However, her breasts and abdomen seemed firm compared to her own body as she remembered it.

She was not in the habit of observing her own body on a daily basis, so there was no way to be sure, but her petite figure in the mid-150s did not seem to have changed much.

(Perhaps I was unhealthy?)

Erina stayed at home and worked from morning to night, drinking energy drinks when she felt sleepy.

She would eat frozen foods, convenience store box lunches, and delivery services, and when work was over, she would drink a bottle of StoZero to bring back the sleepiness she had driven away, and then she would crawl into bed in a state of inebriation.

It was impossible for her not to be unhealthy.

But she was not aware of it.

She had been living her life with a chronic sense of fatigue and dull headaches, but she had come to accept that this was just the way things were.

But somehow, they all disappeared at once, and she became aware of how bad her previous condition had been.

(I mean, I don't even have to work!)

Perhaps because her body was feeling better, her thoughts were a little more positive.

So she decided to spend the rest of the day idling away through the day without thinking.

She still doesn't know what's going on, but she'll start thinking about it tomorrow.

With this in mind, Erina lay down on her bed wearing only shorts and a T-shirt, but perhaps because she had become too healthy, she did not feel sleepy at all when she closed her eyes.

With no TV, computer, or smartphone, she had nothing but time and energy on her hands, so she had no choice but to kill time by reading the "Guide to Living and Exploring" she had received yesterday.

The next day, Erina left her room and went to the city.

Having spent the day yesterday reading the "Guide to Living and Exploration," she had a good grasp of the city and its dungeons.

Above all, she wanted to go out with her lightened body.

She was a little nervous about going outside in her jersey, but when she looked around outside her room, she was relieved to see that there were more people dressed the same way than she had expected.

In addition to shorts and a T-shirt, underwear was provided, as well as a camisole with bra cups.

She felt a little creeped out by the fact that the size fits her perfectly, but she decided to use it, knowing that there was no point in worrying about the details now.

「Amazing ......」

Erina couldn't help but let out a gasp at the bustle of the city she visited after leaving the room.

It was packed with people, just like a shopping mall on holiday.

On the way there, she was approached several times, but she ignored them and headed for the guild.

It was written in the "Guide" that to survive in this city, you need to register as an explorer here.

She can only use that "Beginning Room" for the first 30 days after arriving here, so she needs to get her living arrangements in order before then.

「Welcome! How can I help you today?」

A female staff member in a suit responds amiably.

「I'm here to register as an explorer.」

「Certainly. Please place your hand here.」

Then, after completing a simple procedure, Erina received an explorer tag.

She was a little hesitant about disclosing her status, but she heard that it would make it easier for parties and clans to recruit her, so she agreed.

She did not dare to go to a dungeon by herself.

She decided to return to her room after taking a quick look around the city that day.

On her way back, she was a little surprised to find that the rabbit bowl she had at the food court was tastier than she had expected.
