Chapter 3 - The Adventurer's Guild

"All right! Go to the Adventurer's Guild!"

 Keiji-kun dashes off cheerfully.

"Are you guys really going to be adventurers?"

Kojima-sensei asked as we left the throne room.

"Yes. It's kind of a funny thing that happened, but it looks like we need to earn some money."

I shrugged my shoulders lightly, nodded and said. I'm still confused because I can't catch up with the situation, but I'm only getting ten days' worth of living expenses. Then I have to earn my own money.

"Even if you don't have to defeat any enemies, Kojima-sensei might be able to make a living, but I think you should join the Adventurer's Guild. Or something."

Shin says with a grin, wondering what's so funny at a time like this.

"Ummm, though. ...... How to get home, I'll check it out."

Kojima-sensei seemed to be somewhat tired. He must have been shocked.

"I'll help you find a way to get home, too. You'll help me too, right?"

The six of us have been transported to another world, but it's times like this that we should work together to overcome difficulties. Yes.

"Of course."

 Erwin nodded with a smile.

"Ah, yes."

 Shin also nodded, though lightly.

"I refuse."

"What? Why not?"

I didn't expect such an answer, so I asked back, a little indignant.

Alec, who refused, explained the reason.

"There are monsters out there, and we don't have a lot of money. The first thing we need to do is to find a way to live in this world. I'm not going to get in the way of that, so if you want to do some research, go ahead and do so. However, if you have trouble making a living, it's your own responsibility."

"Murgh, we should help each other in difficult times, but there are people who are uncooperative."

Securing enough money to live on is, well, certainly a first step, but I don't know how to talk about it like that. I think we can do that while researching.

I got a little angry and said back, partly because my opinion had been rejected.

"I don't think there's any cooperation between people who don't do what they're supposed to do, play around, and then drag us down to lend money."

"Murghh."

Kkuhh, what the hell is this guy!

"Well, well, well... Alec-san has a point. I guess we'll start with the Adventurer's Guild. I don't know how I got into this mess... good grief. ......"

Kojima-sensei interceded, looking a little flustered.

We left the castle and headed for the adventurer's guild that the soldier had told us about.

"There was a big building ...... with a sign with wings and shoes! That must be it!"

"Oh, wait, Keiji!"

Before I could stop him, he ran off ahead of me. I'm worried about letting him go alone, but he's going off on his own, and that's a problem.

When we all entered the large building a step behind, we found men with scars on their faces and rough-looking men hanging around everywhere.

No, I hope I don't get tangled up with these guys.

"Oh, look, there's a new guy."

"What's with those guys and their dangerous gear? They're not even wearing leather armor."

I heard such a voice, but it seems that our equipment has a problem. It's true that compared to the people here, they are wearing solid armor, shields and other protective gear.

"Hey, guys! They're going to accept us here!"

Keiji, who doesn't seem to mind, calls us out loudly, but I feel like I'm standing out in a weird way.

"Hey, kid, this is not a place for kids to play. Go home and suck on your mommy's titties."

Just as I feared, there was a man teasing him.

"What did you say!? I'm not that young, and I'm a hero!"

 Keiji said back angrily, but

The men, who had gone quiet for a moment, burst into laughter.

"Gahahaha, did you hear that guys, he's a heroes!"

"Oh, by the way, you said they were going to call them again this year."

"Those useless people, the king is out of his mind."

"What's so funny? Heroes are strong!"

"Hou~, then, kid, let's see what you can do."

A bearded man with a large axe stands in front of Keiji.

"All right."

Keiji drew the sword that the king had given him.

"Wait. Keiji-kun, you can't hurt yourself. You don't want to do this now."

 I stopped him.

"Why are you stopping me? I'm just testing my strength."

"Uunn. ......"

I have a feeling you're taking this lightly, Keiji, but are you sure you're strong enough to be a hero?

"If you're going to do it, do it on the field. Then again, anyone who isn't registered with the guild is a civilian. Don't let them get hurt."

A staff member approached me from behind the counter as I sat down. Normally, I'd expect him to stop, but he's a complete stranger.

"Well, kid, I'll wait for you. Just get your registration done."

"Mu, okay?"

"Keiji-kun, you really need to stop this. This is not a game, okay?"

 Kojima-sensei will stop him, though.

"I know. But I put all my energy into my muscles, so I'm probably stronger than that old man."

Muscle power? Did you by any chance adjust the numbers on the site I saw?

What if that's not just a game, but what we're capable of now?

What do you think? I have a feeling that it was that "life-changing game" that sent us here. ...... Hmm, I'm not sure.

"No, I don't know what you're talking about. No matter how you look at it, they've got more power than us."

"Well, well, well. Uncle! Is this fine?"

It seemed that he was already planning to do so, and he showed the application form to the guild employee at the counter.

"Which, um, Kagoshima? I've never heard of this town, but that's okay. Your handwriting is so dirty. Did you write "Hero" on this?"

"Yes!"

"Then let's rewrite it. I'll change it to warrior."

"No, no, no. I'm a Hero."

"Even if you are, that's, how do you say, not a profession you can register here. Heroes change jobs, too."

"Hmm? Oh, did you mention that too? Well, that's it for now then."

"Oh. Then, wait a minute."

"Come on, hurry up!"

"Keiji-kun, did you write in Japanese?"

 Kojima-sensei asks.

"Yes, I did."

"Mmm, that's how you get through..."

"I can even read the characters over here. That's strange. It's not like it's Japanese. Oh, and what about Erwin?"

"It's probably looks the same as you guys. Because you guys usually speak English to me."

"Eh? It's Japanese thought."

"I guess it just sounds like that to me, then. It's strange, but convenient and helpful."

It makes my head hurt to think about how people can communicate in different worlds, but it's better than not being able to.

"Registration, please."

It looks like Alec is going to sign up with the staff. Anyway, the king told me that I should register with the adventurer's guild and earn money by hunting monsters and making requests. So I'll sign up too. The other heroes also registered, and waited for the card to be made.

"Hey, you made me wait, kid."

"You're late. I'm tired of waiting. So this is the adventurer's card, huh? It's so cool!"

 Keiji is happy about it.

"Well then, kid, go out front. I'll give you your adventurer's baptism."

"Oh, I like that. Please go easy on me!"

It seems that the two of them are planning to have a real go at each other. This sword is heavy, and it's real. ......
