Prologue - The Golden Nomination Quest
Since then, we've still been trying to conquer the West Tower. The incident with Shin was a shocker, but our adventure is not over yet.
We need to get stronger.
Strength - especially the tiger beastman known as Glenn-sensei - was much stronger than me. Shin had a lot of formidable members, and I wonder now how he was able to win there.
「All right!」
I slapped my cheeks on the bed to get my energy up, changed my clothes and left the room.
「Good morning, Serina-chan, you're always early!」
The innkeeper's old man greets me from the counter, but he's an earlier riser than I am.
「Good morning.」
I return the greeting with a smile and go out to the backyard to wash my face first.
「Hah, fuh, Eeih!」
There was Ione, who was serious holding her sword, doing her morning practice. Her long, fluffy blond hair swayed, and she usually smiled calmly, but when she wielded her sword like this, her face and spirit were completely different.
「Good morning, Ione.」
「Good morning, Serina-san.」
「Would you like to have a bout with me later?」
「Sounds good.」
It's settled.
After washing my face with water from the well and feeling refreshed, I took out my sword from the [item storage] and clashed swords with Ione. It's okay to pretend, but the best way to improve your combat instincts is to have a serious fight.

I used all my strength to strike a sharp slash, but Ione was able to easily parry it with her sword.

Just after a light hit, a sharp and heavy blow comes from the same position. The impression of the previous slash is still in my head, so it's hard to take this one.
I imitated Ione and tried to attack with a different amount of force.

「Fufu, thanks.」
「Good morning, Serina-san, Ione-san.」
When I took a breath, Meena came over. She's carrying a jug of water and seems to be planning to bring her master some water. Her white tail is flapping and swaying, and she looks kind of happy.
「Good morning」 「Meena. Good morning.」
「Can I have join with you guys after I take them?」
「Yes, of course」「Yes, that's fine.」
After a light sweat session of sword fighting with Meena, I went to my room to take a hot bath.
「It's rare for someone to take a hot bath in the morning, though.」
And so on, says the inn's oldman, but as a maiden, this was a line I could not compromise. I can't spend the whole day smelling like sweat.
After having breakfast with Ione and Meena, they said they were going to a Kenjutsu dojo.
「How about you, Serina-san?」
「Hmm, I'm going to go take a quest.」
I don't mind training in the dojo, but I'm a Hero adventurer, and I need to take on quests.
Alec is not interested in any requests from the adventurer's guild, so I have to take them on my own. Good grief.
「I see. I'll see you later.」
「Yeah.」
Erland, the royal capital of Vernia, is not a very pretty city, but the people passing through the main streets are full of life.
「Don't you want some freshly caught river fish?」 「Freshly baked bread! It's delicious!」
I walked through the market, biting into a loaf of bread as I headed for my destination.
The Adventurer's Guild, a place where people seeking adventure gather, has a sign with a design of wings and shoes.
Today, the guild is filled with muscular men with sharp eyes who are always looking for quests.
Finding a good request for the day could mean the difference between life and death. It would be a serious matter.
I join them in examining the requests on tags and paper posted on the bulletin board.
「Hmm, none of them are very good.」

＊I need someone who won't be bothered if you're gone for a week.

There were many requests that I thought I didn't need to be an adventurer for. There are a lot of requests on the list.
What on earth are you going to make people do if they are gone for a week and no one bothers them?
「Oh my, dear me, it's Serina isn't it.」
I turned around at the sound of a familiar voice and saw Isabelle with her gorgeous curly hair hanging down.
Her gilded armor stood out well as usual.
「Ah, Isabelle, good morning.」
We've had a few adventures and I've gotten to know her, so I talk to her in a friendly manner.
「Yes, good morning. Did you have any good quests?」
「Well, there's seems nothing good today」
「So, Ahem, would you like to join me for the nomination quest that came to me?」
「Uhh, Is that......」
I didn't know what a "nomination quest" was, so I tried to ask for an explanation, but before I could get one, my surroundings started to buzz.
「What? A nomination quest!?」
「She's got fancy armor. Is she a famous adventurer?」
「I'm so jealous that she's getting a good job.」
「Ohohohoho, well, with my request completion rate, level, and rank, it's obvious that you should remember the name of Isabelle von Archibald, the 『Golden Flower Maiden (Coin)』. Oh-ho-ho-ho! O-ho-ho-ho!」
Isabelle seemed to be quite pleased as she put her hand over her mouth and smiled broadly. I see, it seems that the guild or the client has specially appointed you.
「All right, I'll take it with you then.」

A girl dressed as a lightly-dressed Thief came out through the crowd, shaking her black braids, and it seemed Ai was also here.
「What? You too?」
Isabelle said a little uncomfortably.
「Why not!? That's fine, I'll take Serina with me.」
Then Ai grabbed my hand and pulled. I'm not a thing. ......
