Slave Harem Volume 4, Chapter 13

Chapter 13

「It's easier than I thought it would be. Even the Sea God has its limits.」

The merman, Georg Vasti, said with a serious face while covered in the blood of the demons he had just stabbed with his trident.

 The merman is Sion's husband.

They had infiltrated the dungeon long before Mars and the others arrived and had moved on.

Although they, too, had grown legs, they were not human legs, but those of a beast with exceptional speed and agility.

「Georg the Warrior, are you sure about this?」

「What do you mean? What are you talking about?」

「You have a wife, do you not? If you have a family, shouldn't you stay in the city and protect them?」

When the man, also a warrior, asked this, Georg looked bitter and cast aside the demon he had just killed.

「I don't like the way that woman looks at me. I don't like those eyes that seem to see through everything.」

「Then why get married ......?」

「Because everyone is telling me to get married. If I stayed single, I would be underestimated. I could have married anyone I wanted.」

The other merman chuckled at his own foolish question.

「You didn't even check if she was alive or dead?」

「No, it's meaningless.」

――I don't care about anyone but myself.

 Why should I protect her?

 It is annoying.

Creatures without anyone to protect them have no value.

Creatures that can't even protect their own lives should just die.

Why does everyone care so much about family?

「Anyway, it doesn't matter whether that woman is alive or dead. Besides, it would be more convenient if she were bereaved. I don't have to support her, and I can use the excuse that I was married. Then it's better if she were dead.」

「...... Is there nothing more important to you than fighting?」

「Nope. If I can fight until I exhaust myself as a single life, then that is my true hope.」

Georg was only interested in fighting.

As long as he could live strongly as a living being, that was all that mattered. He did not care about the next generation, or anything else.

As long as the present is good, and I am good, I am satisfied.

「What is your wife's name? If you die, there's a rule that you must report to the person you want to notify.」

「Hmm......what was her name? I don't remember.」

As expected, his companions were taken aback.

But Georg didn't notice it either.

He doesn't care what happens to Sion.

If she was dead, that would be better.

A woman whose name and face he didn't even remember――

「I just want to fight someone stronger. That is all I want. And then I will slaughter them and prove that I am the strongest.」

If I die in battle, I will be satisfied.

Georg, however, has never thought of his own death.

His longevity makes death a distant prospect.

He thought that his pursuit of ideals would continue forever.

And he had thought his life would not be disadvantaged by his pursuit of ideals.
