Volume 2: Chapter 1 - First Exploration, First Battle

　The magic circle at the entrance to the dungeon led me to a grassy field.

　The blue sky was moderately littered with clouds, and the sun was shining in the southeastern sky.

　Looking around, there were bushes and forests, and mountains could be seen in the distance.

　A gentle breeze that sometimes caresses my cheeks is pleasant

　It felt as if I was outside, but this place was inside a dungeon.

「Let's see, the tallest mountain is in front of you, the forest is on your left and the big rock is on your right, so ...... I guess this is the 8th point.」

　The transfer destination is not fixed but randomly assigned.

　I checked my current location, looking at the note I had taken out of my inventory.

　The maps for floors 1 through 10 are in the first guidebook I received, so beginners can either memorize them or exploring while looking.

　However, I had been doing nothing but playing with Sera for the past 10 days, so I didn't have time to memorize it.

　On the other hand, it was too much trouble to carry around a guidebook, so I wrote down the map and precautions in a 【Notepad】, one of the summoning items.

　If it's a summoned item, I could put them in and out of my inventory.

「Oka~ay, there's no one around.」

　I mumbled a little louder, but there was no response.

　It seems to be true that the transferees are assigned so that they don't conflict with each other as much as possible.

「All right, all right」

　After looking around just to be sure, I took out a 【Mithril Sword】 and a 【Steel Shield】 from my inventory and equipped them.

　Only slimes appear on the first floor, and as long as you are wearing the　【Beginner's Jersey】, you will not take any damage, but I wanted to feel safe, so I equipped my shield.

　While walking through the meadow with caution, I soon spotted a slime.

　The shape was a slightly distorted sphere, about the size of a handball.

　The translucent, gelatinous monster with a faint bluish tint was moving about, shivering and occasionally bouncing.

「I'm glad it wasn't a grotesque one.」

　Slimes come in all shapes and sizes, depending on the work in which they appear.

　No matter how weak they are, I don't like the ones that come close to me.

「Let's take it down quickly.」

　I remove the scabbard and pull out the sword.

　The silver-white blade reflected the sunlight.

　Thanks to my skills, I think I have at least a decent stance.

　I sat down and slowly approached, holding my shield in front of me just in case.

　I am not sure if the slime, which is trembling, has noticed me or not.

　Well, since its only means of attack is physical contact and it doesn't even cling to me, it doesn't matter if it notices me.

　When I get close to about 2 meters away, I sit down even further.

　While protecting myself with a round shield, I slowly approach the slime, and when I have further reduced the distance to about half a meter, I step in, open my body, and swing my sword down.

　――!

　The silver blade slid into the slime with less resistance than cutting tofu with a kitchen knife.

　The slime shuddered once, and then turned into particles of light as it lost its shape, and soon after disappeared.

　After that, two copper coins, a cube of gel, and a piece of glass the size of the pinky finger appeared.

「First battle, first victory, I guess?」

　Monsters in the dungeon disappear when defeated, and drop items and money.

　I picked up a copper coin and put it in my pocket.

　Copper coins that aren't summoned items can't be put in my inventory.

　Next, I pick up what looks like a small piece of glass.

　This is the 【Exp Crystal】 needed to level up.

　When I held it in my hand and thought about it, it disappeared as if it had melted into my body.

　This means that you have obtained exp (experience), and if you exceed a certain amount, you will level up.

「So this is the last one.」

　I picked up a cube of gel.

　The size is about the same as a Rubik's cube, and it is soft and elastic, and is called 【Slime Gel】.

　It is said that when it is processed by alchemy or magic, it becomes like plastic or vinyl.

「Hmm, it's a little bulky.」

　If you take it to the guild, they will buy the 【Slime Gel】 for 100 Auro, but it's not big enough to fit in my pocket.

　I've already got some bags from a summons, but it would be a hassle to take them out and have someone look at them, and while it's not like I can't put the whole bag in and out of my inventory, the 【Slime Gel】 is not worth that much.

「I'm throwing it away, I guess.」

　Throw away the gel.

　Drop items disappear after a minute or so when left on the ground, so you don't have to worry about littering.

　Then, after defeating two more slimes, I felt the presence of someone and stored my sword and shield in my inventory.

　No matter how many people are transferred to different places, there are still a lot of beginners who visit the first floor.

　If you continue your search, you may run into each other.

「Oryaaahh!」

　Thanks to the fact that I was at a reasonably high level, I found that I could defeat the slimes with just one kick.

　I walked through the meadow, killing slimes as I went, and when I had killed about 15 of them, I reached a blue magic circle to return home, so I got on it and left the dungeon.
