Chapter 1 - A Different World.
What?
What was that?
What just happened?
I quickly looked around, but I couldn't see anything because of the fog everywhere. All I could see was a pure white world.
"Mmm. ...... Where is this? Tamae!"
I called out to her, remembering that I had been playing a game with Tamae while talking to her on phone. But there was no joyful reply from her.
The chatterbox Tamae would never ignore me.
"I'm in trouble. ...... Eh?"
I looked down at my feet and saw that my body was gone.
I couldn't believe my eyes, but there was an empty space right below me, and beyond that was still white fog.
"Hey ......"
What's going on? This is.
"Ye~s, there's no need to panic, okay~?"
I heard a soft girl's voice coming from somewhere.
"No, I'm not in a panic."
I was just a little surprised.
"Ah, T-that's right~... You're so calm~."
"By the way, who are you?"
I can't see the owner of the voice, but I can hear it from nearby, so I ask the question.
"Ah, yes, I'm God~."
...... Fuu~, I don't care what you say, but I don't think you're going to be able to help me.
"Y-you're terrible. I'm really useful."
"Well, I'm a little irritated, so can you please talk normally? I'm still a high school student."
I said that, but then I realized that the self-proclaimed god had read my mind.
"This is normal."
"Um, are you really ......God"
"Yes~. I'm the real deal, the genuine article~. Oh, but I'm a god of this world, so I might be a little different from what Tamae-san imagine."
"Hmm? Tamae? I'm Serina, by the way. Shiraishi Serina."
I had a feeling that God was making a serious mistake, so I made sure to correct my name.
"Huh? Eh, eh, eh, eh~...? I made a mistake again~!"
You're a useless god. What do you mean again? Isn't this god supposed to be omniscient and omnipotent?
"Ugh, I'm having a rough day. I'll have to investigate the cause later. ...... What's wrong with it?"
"I don't know? Even If you ask me. By the way, is it correct to say that you are in charge of managing this world?"
The god seems to be missing a lot of things, but if there is no one else in charge, I guess I have to rely on her.
"Yes, you're right. There's another Lord God, but I'm pretty sure I'm in charge of you."
"So, first of all, can you explain to me the origins of this world, how I was sent here, and what you expect to do about it?"
Also, I want you to show yourself.
Seemingly having read my thoughts, a girl with round glasses appeared in front of me. She was dressed in a white cloth outfit from ancient Greece, a chiton perhaps. Her hair was a strange light blue.
"Well, I can't teach you that much at once ......"
"Then, let's take it one at a time."
"Uuhh, Ummm... well, I guess we'll have to talk about that another time. ......"
"I'm still fine with that, but when is that?"
"Auu, Auu...... *sniff*, some kids are crying, you know?"
"Who is it?"
"T-that's me. ......"
"Hmmm."
I gave the unfortunate goddess a cold stare without reservation.
"Ah, Uhm. Anyway, it's time to go, and since you seem to be frustrated, I'll take you on a quick tour of another world~♪."
"I refuse. The first thing I want to do is explain the situation. And please don't try to read my mind. What is the privacy policy of this place?"
"Fueee.........I'm not sure about the privacy policy or anything that seems that difficult to me."
"Anyway, you'll meet a wonderful prince, you'll be the happiest, and you'll have the skills to become a warrior, so please forgive me."
"Oh, hey!"
I was about to protest against this unacceptable treatment, but it seemed that my body - or rather, my consciousness - had already been sent away again.
◇ ◆ ◇ ◆ ◇
My consciousness returned unexpectedly.
"Hmm? Where am I?"
The scene had changed again from before.
This time, it seemed to be a rather large and dark basement. I could see the ceiling and a faint wall on the other side. The walls seemed to be made of lumpy stone blocks and were not flat.
There was a pale light source on the floor below, and it was a complex pattern, in some places a geometric pattern of circles and straight lines, but there were also letters around it that I had never seen before.
Is this the magic circle I often see in occult movies?
"Ehh! Kyaaa! Why am I naked!?"
That's when I realized that I was completely naked and panicked. And there's a naked man right next to me!
"You!"
I put all my weight and threw a straight right punch on the face of the middle-aged man who looked at me and grinned.
"Uuoohh! Ughh!"
I was going to resist with all my might if he attacked me, but he let out a funny voice that sounded like a crushed frog, and then he turned over and stopped moving.
"P-please don't do this, Oh Hero!"
I braced myself as yet another group of men came running towards me, but the men in robes seemed to be worried about the fallen middle-aged man.
"Here, this is a maiden, give her something to wear."
One old man said, and another robed man handed me a white dress.
"Everyone, please turn around."
I don't know what's going on, but if you've given me clothes, you're not going to do anything about me right away. I put on the humble clothes.
When I looked, I saw that the middle-aged man who had fallen was also dressed in similar clothes.
"Who is that man?"
"He's a "Hero" just like you."
"A hero. ......"
It's obvious that it's not his first name or any other name.
I mean, is that it? There was a game that my friend Tamae recommended to me, where the dialogue was, "Well done, hero."
These people are such cosplay enthusiasts or something, or perhaps ...... a respectable religious group if they've come this far.
Anyway, I was outnumbered here, I couldn't find my phone, and it would be a bad idea to resist. I'll pretend to obey them, and when I see an opening, I'll run away and report them to the police, yeah, that's a good idea.
It seems that even my hair has been dyed red without my permission, and I hope I can wash it out.
"This way, oh heroes. His Majesty the King is waiting for you."
"Right, I understand."
I followed the robed man's lead up the stairs.
"This is ......"
I knew at a glance. This was a castle. It was also quite large.
It seemed to be made of real stone, not from some theme park. The ceiling is high and arched. There was a red carpet under our feet on the stone floor, and the walls of the corridor were covered with lanterns set up at even intervals.
――apparently this is not Japan.
There was no such castle near my house. The soldiers guarding the door all had Western-style faces and blue or brown eyes.
I wondered as I followed the guide to the huge iron doors that awaited me.
"This is the throne room. Since His Majesty is here, please do not make any rude remarks."
"I understand."
Anyway, if I meet the king, I might learn something about the situation.
I walked bracing myself as I looked beyond the heavily opened door.

Oh that's interesting, her hair wasn't originally red then.
