Chapter 6 - Sword Country
Since then, no particularly strong monsters have appeared, and the trip has gone smoothly.
Unfortunately, we'll be staying in the wild tonight.
「Alec, leave half the watch to me」
Badge said. In times like this, a regular ride escort might be useful. That's what I thought.
「All right.」
Alec nodded, then instructed after he had gone over.
「Me, Meena, Serina, and Ione will be rotating the guards in that order. Badges don't count」

He's really cautious about these things. But that's how dependable he is.
Badge and Lily gathered wood for the fire, and dinner was just seared bread and cheese. It's not a very long trip, so we won't be hungry, but I'd like some soup.
If it's a long trip, I'd better carry at least a pot with me.
「Yes, I've been to Spagna many times already.」
After dinner, I sat around the fire and talked with Nick, the coachman.
Apparently, Spagna is a much bigger castle town than Erland. I heard that there are a lot of weapon shops, so I can update my equipment. I hope they have some cute equipment.

「Do you have any recommended spots?」
I asked the most important question. If he's a seasoned traveler, he probably know a lot of places to visit, and maybe there's something else that would be useful for our adventure.

The passengers on the regular ride were also listening to Nick's story with interest.
Listening to a story of adventure under the night sky by the fire seemed to attract people's attention. I casually looked up and saw the brightly colored stars shining quietly above me.

I felt as if I hadn't seen the night sky in a long time.

I remembered looking out from the balcony during spring break.

In the early afternoon of the fourth day, the carriage arrived at the village, but it was already in the country of Grandsword.
This was a bit of a surprise to us, as we had been expecting checkpoints at the border.
「Grandsword hasn't had a war with the surrounding countries for a long time. Merchants and adventurers come and go as they please. I'm sure they didn't get along with the country of Portiana to the southwest, but Grandsword is stronger than them, so they don't need to be careful.」
Nick, the coachman, told us about the situation.
「I wonder if the other heroes are there too?」
Erwin and Keiji-kun said they were heading to another country, but there are other heroes who were summoned in another year. I'd like to exchange information with them if I can, but I don't want people like Shin who ......is doing PK.
「Serina, keep our identities to yourself」
Alec says.

Meena was fired up, but when Nick heard her, he seemed to think she was going to shut him up and his face became fierce.

Nick said, and looking ahead, I saw a lot of stone buildings lined up.

A magnificent castle standing tall in the middle of it. It's much bigger than the royal castle of Vernia.
The streets were beautifully maintained with cobblestone pavement, and there were carriages coming and going in addition to ours. There were a number of adventurers armed with armor and swords, probably for the same purpose as us. They were either smiling cheerfully or watching their surroundings with sharp eyes.
It's quite a lively place.
So this is the land of swordsman.
