Slave Harem Volume 4, Chapter 28

Chapter 28

「What on earth is going on...?」

「Are you not a person from this world?」

Mars, in a state of shock, was surrounded by Hazuki and Nemu, who were questioning.

Nemu seemed completely puzzled, but Hazuki, with a slight difference, asked the question after grasping the situation.

「B-But Jet Black-san turned out to be a brighter person than expected, right? I-I guess he said it in a joking manner, right?」

「――It didn't sound like a joke to me. Is it normal for someone to come to a place like this as a joke?」

Lilia, along with her confusion, exuded a slightly irritated atmosphere.

「――What he said was true. I'm not a person from this world. I came from a different world and was reborn here.」

 Mars couldn't see their faces.

So he said with his head down.

Then Lilia came over and grabbed Mars's face with both hands, directing it towards herself.

「Master. I've been thinking about that possibility for a long time. Let me be clear. I was aware of it.」

Her pouting face had an expression of sadness rather than anger, and her ice-blue eyes were moist.

「L-Lilia, you knew about this!? That's not fair!」

「No, it's not like that! It's just that, considering Master's cooking and various knowledge, it was clear that he wasn't the experience of a seventeen-year-old human. And I also felt that there was something different in the premise of knowledge.」

「If that's what you mean, then certainly... Am I just not smart enough? That's about as far as I thought...」

「At first, I also thought Master was just from a completely different cultural background. Because you seemed like a traveler. But the more knowledge I gained, the more I realized the strangeness of Master's knowledge. No matter what literature I read, nothing seemed to apply.」

Words, cuisines, and so on, continued Lilia.

――At first, I wasn't really serious about hiding it that much.

I hoped I could tell them someday.

But as we spent more time together and our affection deepened, I couldn't say it anymore.

From the perspective of people in this world, my existence is nothing but an unfair advantage.

For example, if there were reincarnators in the modern world and I were to disclose that fact, I would be criticized.

Clearly, it is cheating. Because it's my second time with an advantage over everyone else.

I don't mind being criticized by people I don't know, but I didn't want to be hated by the people I love.

The reason I couldn't say it was self-preservation. Because it was self-preservation, I couldn't say it even more. I didn't want to be thought of as a despicable person.

「I...」

「I was surprised, but it's not a big deal, is it? Even if you're from a different world, it doesn't change my feelings towards you. After all, even our races are different, you know?」

「That's right......... The Mars we love is the Mars before us now.」

「And besides-nyaa, thanks to that, we can enjoy delicious meals, too-nyaa!」

「Everyone ......」

The impact of Mars' confession was minimal, and it was surprisingly accepted more easily.

It's a definite fact that the Mars Irving is undoubtedly shaped by both his past life and his current self.

It's only when both of them come together that he becomes the Mars he is now.

The Mars they want to be with is precisely that Mars.

Therefore, regardless of the past, their appreciation remains unchanged.

Mars was unaware of such an obvious fact and was frightened that his foothold would collapse and he would be left alone.

「Everyone has a past they don't want to talk about. Each one of us carries a despair that we can't share precisely because it's someone we care about. —I'm still older than you, you know. Surely, even if you add up your previous life with Mars, you wouldn't reach my age, right? So if you have something you want to talk about, I'm here to listen. I won't get angry, so please feel free to tell me anything.」

Lilia spoke gently, taking hold of Mars' head and burying it in her chest.

There was no trace of any sexual atmosphere; it was pure maternal care.

――I knew it would turn out this way. I'm sure everyone will accept it without any problems.

I was just foolishly trying to handle it all on my own, thinking I was being mature, but I wasn't any different from a child trying to hide bedwetting.

I was just scared of being scolded or disappointed.

A sense of relief welled up, and tears began to flow.

「Everyone, will you listen to me?」

Lifting his head, Mars made up his mind to confess to everyone and stood up.
