Angel Volume 2, Chapter 9

Volume 2: Chapter 9 - Party Formation

It may sound like I'm repeating myself, but the residents of this city have an obligation to 'explore the dungeon'.

However, by obtaining the status of "Supporter," they are officially released from this obligation, but of course, there are several disadvantages.

The most important of them are

――You will not be able to leave this city.

 That's what it's all about.

The only way to get out of this closed city is to conquer the deepest part of the dungeon.

It's only a matter of a little thought that a 'Supporter' who doesn't dive into the dungeon can't get out.

「But even if I continue to be an explorer, it doesn't mean I can go out of the city, right?」

The next day, I was talking with Yoshie-san, who had joined me at the guild.

Before registering as a party, I wanted to confirm the rules of this city and make it as mutually agreeable as possible.

「Besides, I was thinking that since my life was short, I might as well think of it as if I was in an institution somewhere.」

Well, in today's Japan, it is difficult to live a long life on tatami mats, isn't it?

There are a lot of old people in my neighborhood, and a few have died since I moved back to my parent's house, but most of them ended up in hospitals or institutions.

It would be too unusual to be transported to another world and end one's life there, but I guess there are similarities in the sense of leaving a familiar place.

Or maybe, if you don't tell yourself that, you can't do it.

「It seems that even if you can get out, it doesn't mean you can go home. ......」

We don't know where people go when they leave here.

We don't even know for sure if they really got out of here in the first place.

After all, it is said that once you leave this place, you will never come back.

「The deepest part of the dungeon is the 100th floor, and there seem to be a good number of explorers who have made it there.」

「The basis for the belief that these people went out there, that is, I don't quite understand」

The explorers who reached the deepest part of the dungeon did not return.

So they conquered the dungeon and went outside! I don't think it's easy to think that.

There is a possibility that they were wiped out.

Still, they went out, and the "Support Explorers" were the reason why they thought they were out there.

「It says in the "Guide" that the Support Explorers disappeared at the time when the Explorers who reached the deepest part of the dungeon would have probably conquered the dungeon.」

It is a rare occurrence for a "Support Explorer" who has spent time in the city without entering a dungeon to suddenly disappear.

Apparently, it is expected that if they belong to a party, they can go out with the Explorer even if they are far away.

However, as mentioned earlier, it is not known where people who leave this place will go.

Will they be able to return to their original world, or will they go out into a completely different world, or will a new dungeon await them ......?

 No one knew for sure.

「I'll be honest, I'm not too hung up on getting out of here.」

Why dive into a dungeon if you might not get out?

It's a duty, and there are circumstances where you have to earn money in the dungeon to make a living.

But I had more reasons than that.

No, it's not just me, I think most of the people in this city think similarly .......

「What can I say, it's kind of fun, isn't it? Life here is so much fun.」

 Right, it's fun.

With the level correction, you gain physical abilities that would be unthinkable in the original world, and then there are skills and magic, and you use those powers to fight monsters.

It's like some kind of attraction.

There was a kind of fulfillment that I could not experience in the original world.

Perhaps my mental state is deranged due to status correction, but what does it matter?

 Above all, I have Sera.

Sex with her is, to put it mildly, the best, and on top of that, I have access to items.

If someone told me I could go home and go back to my life right now, I'd say no.

「Maybe I'm losing my mind. Still, would you be okay with that?」

When I asked, Yoshie-san froze for a moment and then smiled.

「Fufufu......... Actually, I'm a little excited too」

「Ehehe, that's a little surprising.」

Because right after we met again yesterday, she was really down.

When we parted ways, she was picking it up a bit, but today she seems so much more vibrant by comparison.

「I was really anxious, you know? But after talking to Haruma-san yesterday, I realized that I can live a normal life, and I began to look forward to my new life.」

「No, I might cause you some trouble, though」

「Even so, that's okay. I guess you could say that I'm free from all sorts of ties. ......」

Well, Yoshie-san said that there are many people around her with the same surname, so she probably lived in the countryside.

I haven't been back in the countryside that long myself, but there are still many things that disgust me.

When you're as old as Yoshie-san, it's easy to imagine that you must have really been through a lot.

「So, you're going to form a party with me, is that right?」

「Of course. I wonder if it's okay for you to be with an old lady like me?」

「It is already good. I'm sure I'm going to cause you a lot of trouble, but......」

「It is I who should say so, I'm sure there are many things I can't do ......」

After exchanging something like this several times, we agreed to form a party with each other and went to the guild's reception.

「I understand that Haruma-sama and Yoshie-sama are going to form a party. What would you like to name your party?」

「The name of the party, huh ....... Do we have to decide on it now?」

「You will need some kind of name just in case. You can change it at any time, so many people start out with a simple name and later on the name it according to the characteristics of the party.」

「By "to match the characteristics of the party," do you mean like a clan name?」

「That's right」

For example, "Iron Fist," which mainly has fighting skills, "Overkill," which has the idea of raising the level and hitting with physical attacks, "Thunder Steel," which mainly has magic skills, "Armor of Light," which focuses on equipment, "Ace of Spades," which has many rare and valuable skills, and so on. Many of the clans I knew had names like that.

I've also seen a lot of parties in the past few days of exploration, but I've also noticed that the name of the party is also a description of the body of the party.

For example, "Journey Through the Dark," which is more about adventure than conquering, "Time What Is Time," which is a time attack-style strategy for a short time, "Welcome to Dying," which is a low-level and reckless strategy, "Valkyries," which is composed only of women, and "Bright Eyes," which is composed of people with magic eye skills. I am not sure of the meaning of the names, but there were many parties with names that seemed to be particular about their skills.

Well, I don't have a particular policy at the moment, and I've heard that people often start out with the leader's name, so I settled on the extremely easy name "Haruma's Party.

I may change it at some point, but that will probably be a long time from now.

「Now that the party registration is successfully completed, let's go look for a new base, shall we?」

So, Yoshie-san and I left the guild and headed for the real estate agency.
